RPF Recruitment Now Annual by SSC: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw Announces Key Updates (2025)

A bold new era for India's Railway Protection Force (RPF)! Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has just dropped a major announcement: the RPF recruitment process will now be an annual event, conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). But here's where it gets controversial...

In a move that has sparked mixed reactions, Minister Vaishnaw also unveiled plans to modernize the RPF with cutting-edge technology. During his address at the 41st Raising Day celebration in Valsad, Gujarat, he revealed that RPF personnel will soon be equipped with VHF sets and receive advanced digital and drone training.

"This is a significant step towards enhancing the operational capabilities of our RPF personnel," the Minister emphasized.

But that's not all. Minister Vaishnaw also highlighted the Indian Railways' commitment to serving lower-income groups. In a heartwarming gesture, he announced that 12,000 special trains will be operated during the upcoming Diwali and Chhath festivals to accommodate the surge in passenger demand.

"We want to ensure that everyone, regardless of their economic background, can travel safely and comfortably during these festive times," he explained.

In addition, Minister Vaishnaw highlighted the remarkable progress of Indian Railways over the past 11 years. He noted that an impressive 35,000 kilometers of new railway tracks have been constructed, and 99% of railway electrification has been completed.

"These achievements are a testament to our dedication to modernizing and expanding India's railway network," he stated.

The Minister also shed light on the government's station redevelopment program, revealing that over 7,300 stations are planned for redevelopment, with 110 already completed.

During his visit to Gujarat, Minister Vaishnaw inspected the RPF parade and presented awards to 40 outstanding personnel. He later visited the Bilimora High-Speed Railway Station in Valsad.

So, what do you think about these bold initiatives? Are they a step in the right direction for India's railways? Feel free to share your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
